Monday morning arrived , day for 190ish miles to Berlin and what was the weather doin? yep you've guessed it.....
Pissin down, or as the forcast said..... showery!!
Well we set off and had to put up with driving with no lights on so we could not see them in the spray when overtaking. We arrived at the home of Netmans Aunt in Lichtenrade district of Berlin, unpacked the bikes then headed for some drinks.
Tuesday was doin the touristy bit using public transport, 15 euros for a day ticket to use all transport systems. and that was for all three of us.
Now on to some piccies, as you have all been waiting for them......
Checkpoint Charlie first....
Its museum....
The route of the Berlin wall is still designated by stones in the roads etc
Netman and Kellarman posing..... as usual.
The Brandenburg Gate
The Reichstag
The russian war memorial which was erected within 4 months of the end of WW2
The tallest structure in europe
Where we not only sat and drank 208.5 metres up.... what goes in must come out....
Panoramic view over to the Reichstag from the viewing area
Whilst driving on the busses we noticed those good old 'Trabants', but low and behold there were about 12 of them on a 'Trabi Safari'
Due to the changing weather, Netman bought a brolly, well he also had a name change to 'BROLLYMAN'......
Of course the day had to be finnished off in a bar drinking copious amount of draft warsteiner [wobbly to the initiated].
Thats the end of Pt2.
So until the next installment....... spose I best do some work.
