Sweden and Norway

Postby Gruf » Sun Jul 01, 2007 10:30 pm

On the 15th June we set of on our hols the bike was gleaming and ready to roll then I had to get it out of the garage and it was pissing down.
The rain finally stopped when we got to Harwich and the sun was shining we rode to the ferry port to meet the BMW tour group (later to be known as the panzer division) as we rounded the corner I was relieved to see another Honda amongst the BMWs and it was a Blackbird. So that was two blackbirds (known as team Nippon) and 17 BMWs.
Image
It did not stop raining until we got to Stockholm on the 4th day of our hols so the camera stayed in its bag. In Stockholm we visited the Ice bar.
Image
We then headed for Sunsvall and then Trondheim and it rained for most of the time and the riding was on crap roads and all we could see were trees and more trees so not a lot to photograph.
Then we went from Trondheim to Alesund and crossed the boarder into Norway and this was where the holiday began so just over the boarder the camera came out for the first photo of many.
Image
On the way to Alesund we had to take one of what was to become many ferries
Image
Image
We also went over the Atlantic road
Image
Image
Image
Then we went onto Alesund, which was a bit wet
Image
From Alesund we headed for Otta over some brilliant roads one of which was the trollstigen or trolls ladder
Image
Image
Image
Then onto Geiranger
Image
Image
and onto our overnight stop in Otta
From Otta we headed to Geilo on some more brilliant roads
Image
Image
Image
On the way we met some of the panzer division
Image
Looking and photographing this
Image
We then took another ferry
Image
and onto our lunch stop where I caught our dinner
Image
Then onto our over night stop in Geilo the next morning we headed for Bykle and
Our first coffee stop where I met my avatar and told him a joke which cracked him up
Image
After the coffee stop we headed for our overnight stop at Bykle. Then onto our last
Overnight stop in Bergen on the way we were heading for a tunnel, which was shut
and we had to take the old road over the mountain, which was stunning.
Image
Image
We then stopped at a water fall and some of the panzer division rolled in and surrounded
team Nippon
Image
but we escaped for yet more views
Image
Image
We then met the panzer division again Image
but team Nippon managed to stay to one side
Image
We then arrived in Bergen where we met Leftlaner
Image
Image
The next morning we got the ferry home
Image
where the other half of team Nippon had a moment of madness and tried an
adventurer for size
Image
but soon returned to his much loved xx to board the ferry

And that was the end of my little adventure to Norway and Sweden.
I would go back to Norway but not Sweden

In the words of Borat, I like.

Can you give us some clues as to how much everything cost as I've heard on the grapevine it's a tad expensive?

I've just read how much things are in Norway jawdropping jawdropping jawdropping . I'm planning a three week holiday in a few years time going to the north cape and back. I'd better make in 2020 or hope I win the lottery!

Friend of mine has just upgraded from old one to new GT, says it is really good and a lot lighter and quieter than the old one if that helps make up your mind. Unfortunately he does not have intercom fitted so can't help you there.
