Peak District 22nd June

Postby T.Murphy aka Tim » Fri Jan 02, 2015 2:18 am

Another set of pics sorted in my Photobucket account so may as well post a few during these dark days.

This is of a ride very early Sunday morning...so secret and hush hush that I didn't even tell myself about it until I got up. Lovely mid-Summer's morning , with no route planned..just a bimble "local" like..

Usual "local" route which took me over Snake Pass. left at Glossop towards Chapel en le Frith where I stopped off at a canal basin that had always caught my eye.

Lot of industrial architectural remains there and lovely to smell the early morning barge coal fires and the fekkin bacon and eggs they were cookin without inviting me ! :banghead)

Onwards to Dove Holes then cut back over the peaks to Castleton. stopping off up at the Blue John Caverns overlooking the Hope Valley. This is the original road before it was permanently closed due to the continual landslips of Mam Tor.
