It's a sad fookin world these days, too many do-gooders and tree huggers. Some dirt bike riders try to sue the motocross track owners after they injure themselves while riding - go home and play tiddliewinks if you're scared of getting hurt.
We stopped having Friday afternoon drinks at work because - If staff members are over the limit and get breathalised on the way home, the company are in trouble too as they supplied the alcohol and endorsed drinking before going home.
Even using company email to invite a group for a beer after work can land the company in the ka-ka as it was organised at the place of work.
As an ex Royal Marine Paramedic I used to pull over at traffic accidents when I lived in the UK, then I stopped at a car crash where the driver (a woman) was trapped inside the vehicle (a Mini) with crush injuries to her throat and windpipe. From outside the car I intubated her (put a tube down her windpipe so she could breathe). Whilst inserting the tube using a metal scope I broke her front tooth.
She tried to sue me
Fortunately, the judge asked the obvious question "what would have happened if I hadn't intubated her?" The answer is obviously that she would have died. The judge threw the case out and dismissed it.
That ungrateful biatch (who was drunk and speeding) had the friggin nerve to try and sue someone for saving her life. In hindsight I may have been tempted to keep on driving and there would be one less drunk driver ungrateul old tart on the roads.
But I'm not bitter.
We've had a few crashes during organised rides on OZBlackbird, fortunately, most of the guys on there are passionate about riding, BB's and catching up with a few mates rather than being concerned about "WHO's TO BLAME FOR THEIR OWN F@#K UPS" which is unfortunately how a few people in the world seem to view their place in life.
Tonester steps down from the soap box and shuts up. - The crowd go wild, no more questions please.
